In Miami, the weather makes it feel like summer is pretty much year round–but for me, summer is a distinct season–the sun stays out longer, the balmy weather calls for minimal clothing, pool parties and brunches are every weekend, and Memorial Day & Fourth of July BBQs make summer especially celebratory and unique. There is no doubt summer is my favorite season, and there never seems to be enough time. One thing I can’t be bothered with in the summer? Shaving! That’s why this summer I’ve traded my razor for a few visits to European Wax Center. Full disclosure: I had never waxed before heading into EWC, so I was pretty nervous about what I was going to experience. Thankfully, each visit I have had so far has been fantastic! The staff at EWC Midtown and EWC Dixie are so nice, halfway through the appointment we are always in laughing fits and telling jokes. I use the Ingrown Hair Serum to prevent ingrown hairs, and the Slow It body wash to literally slow down the growth of new hair–making the time between wax visits last even longer. Ah-mazing! Melanie Gilliland, aka the Wax Specialist at EWC also has some summer glow tips, such as: eat lots of fruits & veggies, drink plenty of water, exercise, and get to waxing since you’ll be baring more skin: key areas are underarms, bikini, and legs. Dare to bare!
Now, as we approach July, summer is off and running –I just returned from a week vacation and didn’t need to pack a razor, and I can go into yoga classes knowing my underarms are perfectly hair free. I also love not having to worry about irritation from the ocean–I have sensitive skin and if I shave before the beach, I come out with red bumps–no fun! As you can see here, I am also a big fan of the donut pool float–the perfect way to show off your smooth summer legs! Waxing lets me forget about hair and focus on fun. But don’t let ME have all the fun! Visit your local EWC and first time customers will get a free wax by mentioning the code “ERIKA.” Then you can worry about more important things…like matching your pedicure to your swimsuit. 😉
Note: This post was made possible thanks to EWC, but all opinions and experiences are uniquely my own.
