In my world, luxury items are not the everyday purchase. Sure, I love high end labels and lust after a variety of designer collections, but the truth is I can’t indulge myself too often in high ticket items. Sometimes, though, when the price is juuuuust right, I cave. That’s how I came to own these Alexander Wang pants. Comfortable and practical, they are pants that will be in my closet for years to come. Classic pieces such as black pants, an LBD, gorgeous nude pumps… let yourself splurge a little and you’ll get your money’s worth over time. I know this advice is nothing new, but I figure maybe it helps a little to have it reiterated from the “everygirl” with the average budget. For the record, these are $500 pants that I got for $110, but I won a gift credit for $100 that I was able to apply at checkout. So $10.
I would have been prepared to pay the $110, that’s how I knew they were right for me. Buying things just because they are on sale or are cheap is a quick way to get a closet full of stuff you’ll never wear, or never feel yourself in.
Remember, even if the piece is perfect for your wardrobe, the timing might not be right. There is nothing chic about racking up debt. Good news for you, sales happen all the time! Splurge occasionally, pay for it either up front or as fast as you can, and don’t go on a “treat yo’self” spree and max out your credit cards. You’ll begin to resent your luxury goods, which is the opposite of what you should feel.
And remember, your luxury items don’t define you, they only serve to enhance your look. While it’s perfectly normal to swoon and covet the Chanel bag on the girl next to you, trust me, someone would love to have what you have, even if you are oblivious to your own blessings. Be grateful.
On moi: Favorite Tee (available in crew neck), Alexander Wang pants (similar here), Vince Camuto mules, Fossil bag (c/o), Warby Parker sunnies (c/o).

Love this – “There is nothing chic about racking up debt.”
It’s really easy to get caught up with keeping up, especially with fashion trends cycling through so quickly. Of course we all want to look good TODAY, but it’s so important to remember that we also don’t want to be eating cat food in our golden years.
And your new pants look amazing 🙂
Cheers!
