Kinda weird to say, but this time last week I was in New York City for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. It was a place I always wanted to be, sort of like a pipe dream that I knew wanted to be there but didn’t know how or when I would make it happen. So when my trip came about, I extended it and decided to stay and brave the chicest crowds in the world for some live runway action from some of the world’s most glorious fashion designers.

I figured street style photographers would be permeating Lincoln Center, so I went no holds barred with my show ensemble–hence the turban, the sequin pants, the green blazer, and the cartoonish sunnies. I had so much fun and I’m so glad I won the blazer so I could wear it the next day! I took a respite from the shows (Mara Hoffman, Herve Leger by Max Azria, and Tibi) to catch up with Nikole, a Florida girl transplanted in NYC and also ran in to an old friend, renowned photographer Patrick McMullan. It was a great (and exhausting) second day. It was so nice meeting up and relaxing at the Daily Style Sessions, which was held at the Rooftop of the Empire Hotel. Few things make me happier than manis and Moet!

Not to mention running in 5 inch platforms in 30 degree weather taught me a serious lesson about fashion week and how to dress chicly in the cold (its all about layering…pantyhose)…
