Who says florals are reserved for spring? When floral prints are done in darker colors, like this navy and green number, you can totally transition floral prints into your fall fashion routine. Patterns with a navy or black base color are generally fair game. Toughen the look up with a leather or denim vest for added versatility and a strong, fearless fashion vibe. Florals were also all over the FW2013 collections thanks to designers like Thakoon, Alice + Olivia, Matthew Williamson, Dolce & Gabbana, Milly, and more.
So, in short, floral prints can be rocked year-round. My only other styling recommendation? Opt for a fall-friendly show rather than a sandal. I initially tried this on with really cute suede sandals but it just felt wrong. Pumps, booties, or full boots are your best bets. Here are some floral dresses I LOVE for fall: a flowy smock dress, a transitional jersey dress, one that combines florals and stripes (!), a sexy off-shoulder style perfect for Serena van der Woodsen, and a romantic fit & flare that’s perfect for date night.
Note: I received this fitted shift dress from Le Tote, and it fits like a dream! If you haven’t heard of Le Tote, I suggest you look into what they are all about–hint: they’ve been called the “Netflix of fashion.”
