Happy Friday, everyone! Here in South FL we’ve had bits of rain, but as I type this the sun is shining and it is sweltering! It’s been a long, interesting week for me, I’m definitely ready to hit the snooze button and get some rest over the next few days. In the meantime, I am having a ball getting dressed these days and pairing existing items in my closet with new finds and ideas. This skirt is a perfect day to night item, I’ve worn it both ways, and so is this top… and the bag (which converts into a clutch!) and the shoes. Lol. Talk about pieces that really go the distance! I know I keep saying this, but skirts and light pieces like this are so crucial to surviving summer without becoming a sweaty blob. Case in point- me, yesterday (unphotographed of course), in a long sleeve tissue paper thin t-shirt and light cotton maxi skirt sweating bullets within 1 minute of standing outdoors. Not cute. Light fabrics can be so deceiving sometimes.
I’ve had a roller coaster week coming off of the holiday break with a monster sinus headache, the efforts of taking up spinning again, and managing various disasters like 1) internet outages 2) power outages and 3) a dog vomiting up mangoes (the pitfall of a huge mango tree in the yard). I can honestly say I’ve tried to handle each mini-crisis with a calm demeanor, thanks in part to this amazing and inspiring book I am reading about keeping it together when you want to fly off the walls. Or scream at someone, hehe. In case you’d like to check it out it’s on sale for $5 right now. Namaste and happy weekend, everyone!
