In keeping with Pantone’s color of the year, I’ve really integrated a lot of orange pieces into my wardrobe for 2012. These shorts are certainly no exception–bright, bold and super comfortable, they are perfect for pairing with dressed up tops to balance out office casual. I’m so glad I don’t have to bide by hemlines and shorts as long as your fingertips or whatever that high school nonsense was–sitting at a desk and having little to no face time with clients really is easy on the work wardrobe!
For me, shorts are an office essential, though I realize they aren’t realistic in most office settings. I try to keep them from being inappropriate by pairing a ladylike blouse, androgynous shoes and topping it all off with a polished coif. Side note: as a die hard FSU fan, I never thought I’d wear this color combo. I looked for the faintest blue stripes in my closet… but it was either this or pair with black and look like a jack-o-lantern!
On moi: Ann Taylor blouse (similar), Old Navy shorts (similar) & shoes (similar shoes…great price!), Chloe sunglasses, Mat & Nat bag (similar).

I have the same problem! I’m a VT grad so I have a hard time wearing blue/navy and orange due to the instate rivalry. Lol Glad I’m not the only girl that thinks this way.
I wore shorts to work at Aldo once and they made me go home and change, I was like ummm this is a store. Hmph. I don’t think I can ever work retail again and I don’t know about working anywhere that puts demands on your wardrobe. You’re pretty lucky.
Orange and blue looks good on you
Love the shoes, super cute!! x
