A few weeks ago when I was in Barcelona, I had the pleasure of being hosted by a fantastic boutique hotel called Hotel Grums. From the minute I walked in, the staff was very kind and helpful, offering advice on nearby sights and helping us find landmarks to visit on The location was perfect–right by Paral.Lel subway stop and a few minutes walk from Las Ramblas, which is a popular area for shopping, dining and people-watching. Walk a few minutes in the other direction and you’re at the Port of Barcelona–great if you’re scheduling a cruise or simply want to sit in the park and watch the sailboats.
What’s great about Hotel Grums is that you are conveniently located near the action, but the hotel is on a side road so it’s perfect for a deep night’s sleep. I really loved the bottom floor too–a sauna, steam room and pool-sized hot tub. I didn’t go to the gym at all (tsk tsk, I know), but I did take a peek at it. Everything in the hotel is brand new–it opened less than a year ago, so everything is current, which I love.
For those of you who are foodies, the continental breakfast is AMAZING! After days of croissants and minimal eats in the morning, the Hotel Grums breakfast was a true delight. I even took a picture of it. The rooms are big, the shower is too, and everything is very clean. Great staff, fabulous visit, and zero complaints! I am very excited to take a trip back to Barcelona in the future and stay at the Hotel Grums.
