Recently, we had the experience of hosting a gender reveal party for our friends and family. I had actually never been to one (turns out a lot of the guests hadn’t either), so I wasn’t really sure where to start with planning or what to expect. Hello, Pinterest!<\/p>\n

We made the party pretty relaxed but also wanted to make sure our guests \u00a0joined in on the fun! The easiest way for us to do that? A dress code, of course! On our invites, we asked people to dress in either blue or pink depending on their guess for gender. We participated as well, because we didn’t peek at the results and we wanted to be just as surprised as everyone else. I might have worn something with blue and<\/em> pink \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

We also had guests bring a food or drink item in lieu of gifts. Since the party was over 60 people, this really helped us operationally to make sure there was enough for everyone. Special shoutout to Tank Brewery<\/a> for providing a keg of LA FINCA for our guests to sip on– out of pink and blue cups, of course.<\/p>\n

Then came the actual purpose of the party: cutting into the cake to see if we were having a boy or a girl! I was pretty sure it was going to be a boy, mainly because my pregnancy has been very mild and everyone tells me that girls tend to make you sick more, and also that you carry a different way.<\/p>\n

I am learning that many of these old wives tales are exactly that — because sure enough, when we finally found the colored center, it was pink<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

We had an amazing afternoon, and it was so fun to celebrate with our friends and family. Now, time to start shopping for a baby GIRL!<\/p>\n
