October is here, which means fall in many parts of the country. For us, it means continued summer temperatures and also little bouts of tropical storm warnings. Despite the fickle fall weather, I’m all smiles thanks to the progress I have made with Invisalign!
It’s really amazing how much my teeth have moved since beginning the treatment back in late May. I wanted to share my progress with you and also remind you why a straight smile is so important to me, and maybe it’s important to you too.
Confidence. When your teeth look good, you want to show them off. It’s almost like a subconscious action–straight, white teeth make you want to smile more. I’ve always considered myself a person who smiles and laughs a lot, but I didn’t really like the way my smile came across on camera. As a blogger (and a person who likes documenting my life through images), this was a serious downer. I definitely smile more, and bigger, and I love to capture it on film.
Style. You can be the best dressed person in the room, but unfortunately, a crooked smile is sometimes more memorable than your well planned outfit. Be remembered for your perfect smile and for your gorgeous dress! A great smile is also a classic part of any wardrobe, and a building block to great style for life.
Health. A straight, bright smile is a symbol of health. I’ve found that when my teeth are straighter, it is easier to floss, which is an important part of a daily oral health routine. Good oral health is no joke- aside from preventing gum disease, cavities, and bad breath, your oral health contributes to your overall health as well. An unhealthy mouth, especially if you have gum disease, may increase your risk of serious health problems such as heart attack, stroke, poorly controlled diabetes and preterm labor. Scary stuff!
While there are plenty of reasons why you might be considering Invisalign, one thing is for sure: a straight smile can change your life for the better. I’m so glad I’ve embarked on this Invisalign journey, and I am so excited to complete my treatment and finally have a perfect smile. If you’re looking to start treatment, I highly suggest Dr. Yazji Brickell Orthodontics, who has offices in Brickell, South Miami, and Weston, and is a skilled and knowledgeable orthodontist (she’s celebrating 20 years in practice!) with Invisalign expertise. Oh, she’s also very nice, which makes something as nerve-wrecking as the orthodontist much more enjoyable! 🙂
On moi: Classic t-shirt, leopard skirt, mules, and oversized sunnies, ice cream phone case.
