Sunday afternoon, my friend Celia and I headed to the Arkadia pool at the Fountainbleu Resort to celebrate new Garnier products with Saved by the Bell’s own Mario Lopez. Now I know he has gone on to other things, and currently works for Extra, but I will always remember him as A.C. Slater–and let’s be honest, most people probably do!
Anyhow, Sunday was the perfect day to enjoy goodie-packed cabanas by the pool and we loaded up bags with new Garnier products. Celeb stylist Marc Mena (who works at Warren Tricomi, aka the salon in NYC’s Plaza Hotel) gave me some tousled beach waves using Garnier products and also offered tips on how to recreate the look at home without even drying my hair…gotta love that!
Marc says the look is easily accomplished by mixing equal parts Garnier Sleek & shine Anti-Humidity milk with the Garnier Pure Clean gel and twisting sections of your hair. Once everything is twisted, pin it back and let it air dry…take it down and voila! You look like the total beach goddess that you are.
There were also cabanas set up for massages and acupressure, and I decided to try my hand at the latter. In fact, I still have 4 magnets in my ear that are designed to cleanse and purify different organs throughout my body. I’ve done research since having them stuck in and I am truly fascinated by Eastern Medicine–not to mention I think they are energy-boosting–which is essential when you’re constantly on the go.
DJ Jessica Who played great music & there was a set menu of Garnier cocktails that kept coming around on trays–I chose the Hair Raiser, which was a margarita, and Celia indulged in Garnier Glow, a mix of vodka and pineapple juice. Later in the afternoon we ran into a few familiar faces, which was a great way to round out the afternoon. I think it’s safe to say Celia and I both had a blast!
